ESPN College GameDay, the network’s flagship college basketball studio show, will broadcast live from the Dean Smith Center the morning of Feb. 7 before the Tar Heels host rival Duke that evening.
The broadcast will begin at 10 a.m. on the Smith Center floor and will feature host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg, Andraya Carter, Jay Williams and Pete Thamel. The game itself tips off at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
This will be the 14th time the Smith Center will have hosted a College GameDay broadcast, with 10 of those coming the day of the Tar Heels’ game against Duke. It’s also the 30th time UNC will have appeared in a game featured on the show, which trails only Duke (31) for the most ever. UNC’s 14 times hosting College GameDay also ties Duke for the most ever.
Fans are encouraged to attend the broadcast. The Smith Center doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and lines may begin to form at 7:30 a.m. UNC students are asked to use Entrance C, and the general public is asked to use Entrance D. Admission is free and seating is general admission in sections 104-114. Fans are also encouraged to bring signs, and UNC will provide sign-making stations outside Entrances C and D.
The UNC clear bag policy will be in effect. Carpooling is encouraged, and public parking will be available in the non-reserved sections of the Manning and Bowles Lots adjacent to the arena. Disability parking will be available in the Williamson Lot. After the end of the broadcast, all parking lots must be cleared by 1 p.m. to prepare for the game.
