After sharing photos on Tuesday of suspects in a theft investigation from a construction site in northern Orange County, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a pair of residents on Wednesday.
A release from the office Thursday morning said 44-year-old Jason Todd Richardson and 40-year-old Hannah Marie Turner, who are both Cedar Grove residents, each face charges of felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and felony conspiracy. The charges stem from the robbery of construction materials at a home being built on McKee Road in Rougemont, with the trail camera footage shared by authorities showing the theft taking place overnight on August 2.
“We shared images captured by cameras on the job site to our mobile app and socials earlier this week. We appreciate the calls, tips, and messages we received in response,” said Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood on Thursday. “Furthermore, we encourage construction site managers to contact our office for crime prevention tips specific to building sites and to consider our close patrol program.”

The black and white photos appeared to show a man and woman, neither of whom are wearing masks, walking at the construction site and using a four-wheeler with an attached trailer. The man’s hair is buzzed short, while the woman has her hair tied back in a ponytail. Both are wearing shorts and t-shirts, with the woman wearing Crocs while the man is wearing boots.
The sheriff’s office release said a magistrate scheduled first court appearances for Richardson and Turner at 2:00 pm on Friday.
