Wednesday’s winter storm blew through North Carolina with a variety of winter precipitation and left behind several inches of snow in Orange and Durham Counties.
The snowfall, which largely lasted from Wednesday afternoon into the night, was compounded by below-freezing temperatures and left more powder than sleet or slush, like what was left after a brief snow in January. As a result, local school districts moved to online instruction, local governments closed for Wednesday and Thursday, and UNC canceled classes — leaving much of the community a chance to stay home or safely venture into the snow.
Below are some photos submitted by 97.9 The Hill listeners and Chapelboro readers of the snowy scenes around our community. Do you have photos you’d like to include? Email them to news@wchl.com or message us on social media!
