This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Carol Conway
Carol Conway is described as a “dynamo,” and her seemingly tireless advocacy for adults with disabilities and founding of an organization to bring together similar voices seeking more access to resources like accessible affordable housing, better wages for direct service providers and a great deal more.
Parent Advocates for Adult Children With Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities is the name of the group Conway begun, and now members number in the hundreds and regular meetings feature guest speakers, educational opportunities, pathways to resources and continuous making of voices heard.
