New Alpaca Chicken Location Now Open in Chapel Hill

Another restaurant has joined the slate of businesses along South Elliott Road in Chapel Hill.

Alpaca Chicken, which describes itself as “a healthier alternative to the usual fast food concepts,” has opened a new location at 237 South Elliott Road. The restaurant, which serves a variety of Peruvian charcoal chicken dishes, also has locations across the Durham and Raleigh areas.

The location is next to other Chapel Hill restaurants such as Breadmen’s and Red Lotus. The space was formerly occupied by Monterrey Mexican Restaurant and, most recently, Don Chicken Rotisserie.

Alpaca’s menu includes all-natural, hormone-free chicken along with several Latin-inspired sides, including rice, beans, soup and plantains.

“At Alpaca Chicken, our mission is to exceed each guests’ expectations through genuine service and food quality,” reads a statement on the restaurant’s website. “We hope to instill an unforgettable experience to every guests’ visit while integrating and sharing culture and diversity within our food.”

Alpaca Chicken first opened in 2007, and has remained under the same ownership since then. This is its first location to open in Chapel Hill, with others in Raleigh, Durham and Sanford.
