The University of North Carolina has seen some incredible athletes on its campus, from Michael Jordan to Julius Peppers.
It’s time to add Leah Church to that list.
Church went viral after she posted a video shooting the basketball with her back to the basket. In the video, she nails three shots in a row.
It’s an impressive feat shooting from that distance normally, but Church added an extra layer of difficulty by turning around.
As expected, it did not take long for her trick shot video to go viral.
Courtney Banghart – Church’s new coach at UNC – weighed in on social media as well.
It’s unclear if Banghart intends to incorporate Church’s backwards shooting into the Tar Heels’ game plan this year. Last year, Church scored a season-high 20 points against Georgia Tech and hit a critical 3-pointer that helped UNC upset then-No. 1 Notre Dame in Carmichael Arena.
UNC mascot Rameses also challenged Church to a game of H.O.R.S.E.
Odds have not yet been released for the H.O.R.S.E. matchup between Rameses and Church, but we’re going to bet on the latter here.
