Cedar Ridge High School administrators say the school will be implementing its safety plan after threats were made against the school.
A message from the principal to parents on Thursday said that the “administrative team in conjunction with law enforcement was made aware of a threat.”
The threat came in the form of vandalism in a stall in the boy’s bathroom.
The message sent to parents by administrators said the school takes “the safety and security of all students and staff seriously.”
School officials said that any person “caught making threats against the school and or vandalizing school property will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individual responsible, according to the message.
“We are encouraging students and staff that if they see something, please say something.”
WRAL reported that the safety plan was enacted earlier this week after another threat – this time after graffiti was found in the girl’s bathroom. IndyWeek reported Thursday that an incident report indicated administrators might have known about the threat earlier in the week before communicating with parents.

Is this misprint? How is saying that the school takes “the safety and security of all students and staff seriously.” a threat?
Thank you for pointing this out. The wording of the article has been updated to provide more clarity.
This is a bit backwards. There was a threat in the girls bathroom first. I go there I know all about it.
