The boil water advisory that was affecting customers in northeastern Chatham County has been lifted as of Friday afternoon.
County officials made the announcement that water sampling results confirmed “the water is safe to drink, so customers in the affected areas no longer have to boil their water before consumption.”
The advisory had been in place since mid-morning Wednesday when a contractor hit a water main causing a drop in pressure across the system in the affected area.
