CHAPEL HILL–The Tar Heels claimed an impressive 3-0 win over the NC State Wolfpack Thursday night at Fetzer Field, improving their record to 5-2 in the ACC and 11-2 overall on the season.
Crystal Dunn pushed two scores into the back of the net while Amber Munerlyn added a goal herself to carry the rebounding Carolina squad to the victory on a sloppy pitch.
The Wolfpack dropped to 6-8 overall with the loss and 1-7 in the conference.
UNC has already surpassed its regular season win total from a year ago.

CHAPEL HILL – The No. 4 Carolina women’s soccer team takes to Fetzer Field Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for a league match against NC State.
The Tar Heels come into the contest off a win against Maryland Sunday and currently sit at 10-2, 4-2 on the season. After losing back-to-back games to Notre Dame and Florida State, Coach Anson Dorrance’s squad has rebounded nicely with three straight victories.
The brutal schedule for Carolina has no doubt put it in prime position for a top seeding come NCAA tournament time. In fact, the Tar Heels currently reside at No. 1 in the NCAA RPI poll released Monday.
NC State will surely be hungry to spoil the evening for UNC. The Wolfpack comes in with a 6-7, 1-6 record this season.
