The 1-2 Carolina baseball team will look to rebound from its opening series loss to the College of Charleston when the three-game set with 3-0 Xavier gets underway Friday at 3 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium.

The young Tar Heel bats struggled to get going in the Monday decider in Charleston, but Xavier had no such issues in its opening weekend of play with victories over Toledo, Norfolk State and Furman in South Carolina.

This is the second time the Musketeers will travel to Chapel Hill in the past two years. Xavier and Carolina met for a three-game series two years ago with UNC taking the series two games to one.

Tar Heel pitchers Benton Moss, Trent Thornton and Zac Gallen will likely be taking the mound this weekend.

Friday’s game can be streamed online through GoHeels TV.
