Welcome to Woman Crush Wednesday!

This week, join 97.9 The Hill’s Ali Evans for a conversation with Jamie Tripp, a Carrboro local with family history in the community stretching all the way back to the 18th century!

“I do think we are one big family, and the reason that I can say that is because my family going back so far here, when people come into the community or people that move here and I meet them, it’s like adding them in addition to my extended family,” said Tripp. “I mean, I really can’t go anywhere in town without someone probably being related to me in some form or fashion. And just having that connectivity is really important to me. Always has been.”

Tripp stays involved in community nonprofits and local efforts to improve lives — from using her voice and platform, or just connecting folks who could use a little help.

“I fundamentally believe that everyone should do what they can when they can, where they can,” said Tripp. “Fortunately, I’m at a point where I can do so much, and it would be completely wrong for me not to contribute as much as I do because of my family ties here.”

Listen below for the full conversation between Ali and Jamie Tripp below, and tune in next Wednesday for the next WCW introduction to another amazing woman in our community!
