Today is Monday, January 18, 2016. A fired Taco Bell executive is suing the Uber driver he beat up. People in the United Kingdom want to ban Donald Trump and a kitty breaks into a pet store.
Uber Driver Gets Sued
Do you remember the story about the Uber driver who was beaten up by a passenger?
Benjamin Golden, 32, was a Taco Bell executive. He lost his job after a video that showed him hitting an Uber driver went viral. The Uber driver is Edward Caban. You can see their initial encounter here.
Golden apologized.
But, now he’s suing for $5 milion. Golden’s lawyer told CNBC that they are attempting to keep the video from being used as evidence. Golden’s suit claimed that Caban’s recording was illegal, and any injuries the driver might have sustained were his own fault.
Donald Trump vs. the U.K.
A large chunk of people in the United Kingdom are attempting to ban Donald Trump. They don’t like Trump’s comments regarding Muslims. More than 500,000 people have signed an online petition calling for Trump to be blocked for “hate speech” after he called for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States in the wake of attacks by extremists. Under British law any online petition backed by 100,000 people, who must provide and confirm an email address, is considered for parliamentary debate.
Labour lawmaker Paul Flynn, who chairs Parliament’s Petitions Committee, will kick off a three-hour debate Monday, which will not result in a binding vote.
Cats and Catnip
The video today takes cat burglar to a whole new level, as a precocious Kitty breaks into a pet store only to roll around in the catnip aisle.
