Today is Tuesday, April 19, 2016.  There’s shenanigans with Boaty McBoatface.  We learn where you lost your train of thought and we get more Ambiancé.

Boaty McBoatface

Remember Boaty McBoatface?

That’s supposed to be the name of a research ship.  But, the British government is ruining everything.  It suggested that it would not endorse naming their $283 million polar research vessel by its rightful name, Boaty McBoatface.  The National Environment Research Council (NERC) used an online poll to pick the name of the ship.  Boaty McBoatface was the winner.

But, when science minister Jo Johnson was asked about the name Boat McBoatface, he said, “I think we were clear when launching the competition that we were looking for a name that would be in keeping with the mission.”

Train of Thought

Researchers know where you lost your train of thought.  Adam Aron, a neuroscientist at the University of California, San Diego, led the research.

Aron explains, “We’ve shown that unexpected, or surprising, events recruit the same brain system we use to actively stop our actions, which, in turn, appears to influence the degree to which surprising events affect our ongoing trains of thought.”

Ambiancé

The trailer is only 7 hours and 20 minutes.  But, the movie will be 30 days long.

Seriously.

Ambiancé  is an upcoming film directed by Anders Weberg.  It is expected to release in 2020.  Another trailer, one that will run for 72 hours, is expected to release in 2018.
