It almost wasn’t so bad being home with all that football.

Some people have told me “if you express your point of view on the radio, your title should be opinionist” since, if you do it in writing, you’re a columnist. Since I use both mediums, you can call me anything you want. But here goes about this weekend past.

Indianapolis at Buffalo. I was kind of rooting for the Bills since their coach came from the Panthers and their quarterback has turned into the real deal. But in the end, I was disappointed because the Colts Philip Rivers, at 38, is running out of chances to reach a Super Bowl.

Seattle is one of my favorite teams because of Russell Wilson, but how can you not admire the LA Rams, who beat the Seahawks with an unknown starting QB from Wake Forest and regular Jared Goff relieving him only 2 weeks after thumb surgery on his throwing hand.

I was kind of rooting for the Washington Football Team, whose barely-six-foot quarterback was playing his butt off, but I really wanted Tampa Bay to win because I want to see a third game between the 86-year-old Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Didn’t really care who won between Baltimore and Tennessee, since I don’t like either team. But it was nice to see NFL MVP Lamar Jackson win his first playoff game and get to face the Bills’ Josh Allen.

Of course, I was hoping former UNC star Mitch Trubisky would lead the Bears to a shocking upset of the Saints in the Super Dome, but when it didn’t happen I was jacked for Brees versus Brady Sunday night.

And who couldn’t pull for the Browns to earn their first playoff win in 21 years, especially without their head coach and two assistants quarantined back home watching little Baker outduel Big Ben and the Steelers.

So, in the divisional round, we get the Browns going to No. 1 seed Kansas City, and the Rams at top-seed Green Bay. Frankly, I think the home teams both win easily.

Now, about tonight’s CFP championship game. I’ll be pulling for Ohio State to upset No. 1 Alabama, but just happy Dabo Swinney, head coach and Clemson University spokesman, will be home watching with me.
