Start your weekend early with some live music. The Tracks Music Fest is back for another week, September 15th. The concert is free and will be outdoors at the Rosemary and Columbia St. Parking Lot. This week’s show will feature hip-hop artist Alicia Marie, indie-rock band Bonies, and world music band Larry & Joe. Each show will be hosted by 97.9 The Hill’s own Aaron Keck! Friday, September 16 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Bring your kids out to Kidzu Children’s Museum for a garden party. Your kids will have a fantastic time making flower arrangements, writing in a nature journey, and making other art. Admission is free, but fill out the party passport and you can get a discounted slice of pizza from Alfredo’s and a buy-one-get-one coupon to Maple View Ice Cream. Friday, September 16 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Support your local theater, Playmakers Repertory Company, this weekend for another showing of Blues for an Alabama Sky. The play tells the story of Angel, a failed Cotton Club singer and her friends. But luck could swing for Angel yet when a newcomer from Tuskegee comes to town. Find out if Angel and her friends’ fortunes change at the hands of the newcomer this weekend, with multiple showings you can pick from. Saturday, September 17 9:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Come out to Cameron Street for the annual Hog Day. There’s a lot to enjoy in the day; including a bbq contest, various arts and crafts vendors, a children’s area, and much more to see in historic Downtown Hillsborough. Car enthusiasts will love the car and brake show. Check out a bunch of classic cars with a chance to even look under the hood of a few of the cars lined up. Saturday, September 17 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The annual Asia Fest is back, this time at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. This festival celebrates Asian culture with games, food vendors, live stage performances, culture and health booths, as well as a dragon boat race! The Durham Arts Council is bringing the Centerfest back. The arts festival will feature artists from near and from, performances of music and dance, food, and educational activities for the kids. Downtown Durham has much to offer and your whole family or your group of friends are sure to love all that Durham and CenterFest have to offer. Help Paws4ever celebrate their 60th birthday at their birthday bash! Sculpture in the Garden is back at NC Botanical Garden! View fantastic work from local artists while enjoying the beautiful outdoors of the Botanical Garden. The Bazaar is back at the Carrboro Town Commons. You can shop handmade crafts from talented local makers. While you’re shopping for goods from local artists, you can get some delicious food and drinks from local businesses.
