Start the weekend fun early with some live music at NC Botanical Garden. The Miss Adventures will be playing from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. as part NC Botanical Garden’s Twilight Thursday series. Friday, August 26 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Book lovers, the Chapel Hill Public Library is hosting a book sale all weekend. The sale will feature a sizable collection of a variety of genres along with puzzles and games you can buy so bring your own bag and stock up! Prices start as low $0.50. The sale starts Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for members and will continue Saturday from 100:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a $10 bag sale also taking place on Sunday. Friday, August 26 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Learn how to make pasta at Botanist and Barrel Friday night. First you’ll learn how to make homemade pasta and following the fun tutorial, you’ll get a three-course meal, including two seasonal pasta sauces. The meal will also include a flight of ciders and wine. Along with homemade cooking and a delicious meal, there will be live music from the Patrick McGrew trio. For more information, click here.

Friday, August 26 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

There’s a lot of live music to enjoy this weekend including a performance by the School of Rock Chapel Hill live band. Enjoy the beautiful fresh air as you take in some good music. The house band will be performing on the lawn of the Hillsborough Courthouse. The performance will also include musicians from their Rock 101 and Rock 201 classes. For more information, click here.

Saturday, August 27 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Get a nice workout in at the beautiful Forest Theatre. Franklin Street Yoga Center will be hosting a Yoga class in the sunshine. This class is open to all and will be a donation class for the Compass Center. Bring your own mat, towel, and water and join the class Saturday morning. For more information, click here.

Saturday, August 27 5:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.

Tar Heel football starts this Saturday! Tune into your flagship station for Tar Heel sports for both pre and post-game coverage as well as play-by-play action during the game. Coverage starts at 5:00 p.m. with Inside Carolina, with the Tar Heel Sports network Pre-Game starting an hour before kick off at 8:00 p.m. Post-game coverage will begin after the conclusion of the game and run for an hour and a half. Saturday, August 27 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Parents, how would you like a night out? Drop the kids off at Kidzu Children’s Museum. Dinner will be provided from Alfredo’s Pizza Villa and your kids will enjoy a night of exploration and exhibit play along with staff-led activities. Click here for more information.

Sunday, August 28 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Music lovers, enjoy some more live music with School of Rock Chapel Hill’s end of season concert. The show will be on the main stage at Cat’s Cradle with a variety of genres played. The show will start at 12:00 p.m. with a 90’s Alt Ladies set and will conclude at 6 following a Reggae set. Admission is free, but $10 donations are encouraged. Sunday, August 28 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The second class of the Intro to Memoir class will be held at Flyleaf Books on Sunday from 12:30 – 2:30. The class will continue to teach you how to tell your story or the story of family members or friends through a series of workshops and writing exercises. For more information, click here.
