Neighbor’s Helping Neighbors: Grata Give Back

Habitat for Humanity Orange County will be holding a fundraiser at Grata Cafe on Thursday bringing together all those who have been involved in their Tropical Storm Chantal recovery work in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro area. Film Screening at Chapel Hill Downtown – “State Organs”
Thursday, October 30 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Come out this weekend to Varsity Theater for a showing of “State Organs,” a story about transplant abuse in China. It’s directed by Peabody award winner Raymond Zhang. The film exposes China’s state-run, billion dollar transplant industry built on forced organ harvesting and the persecution of Falun Gong believers. Día de Muertos en Spring Haven Farm

Gather at Spring Haven Farm in honor of D​ía De Muertos this weekend. They are holding a gathering for the Latino Community, their friends, and neighbors to gather, remember, and celebrate together. A community altar will be available for anyone who wishes to add photos, items, and other items in honor of those who have passed. Guests are invited to bring their own food, but there will also be food trucks offering traditional foods. The farm will remain open for candlelight and remembrance in the evening. Bouncing Bulldogs 36th Annual Rope Skipping Workshop & International Jump Rope Spectacular

Pumpkin Smash Party At Pluck Farm

Bring your pumpkins to Pluck Farm for their pumpkin smashing party. Smash the pumpkin and help them turn it into compost. Local farmers are invited to bring a bucket and take free pumpkin scraps back to their animals. The rest will be turned into compost and nutritious soil to be used around Pluck Farm. My Secret Places

North Carolina Botanical Garden is showing a new exhibition, My Secret Places. While they usually show plants and natural landscapes from the Southeastern US, they will be showing self-taught Ukrainian artist Viktor Kramarenko’s work. Tour de France Wine 7 Cheese Walkaround Tasting (40 Wines & Cheeses!)
