This weekend, Tristan Andre’s ‘They Do Not Know Harlem’ will be airing again at Playmakers Repertory Company. It’s an immersive performance in an exploration by Andre of a Black and queer life in a world that is not always a welcoming one. Click here to get your tickets.

Saturday, March 11 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

This Saturday, the Chatham YMCA will be holding their annual Leprechaun Dash. With 5K or a 10K option and different age groups, it’ll be fun for the whole family for a great cause of raising money for children in Chatham County. But don’t forget to wear your green! Prizes will be awarded for the run itself and for best leprechaun costumes. Click here to register.

Saturday, March 11 11:00 a.m.

If you’re interested in gardening or mushrooms, come out to Botanist and Barrel this weekend. After the hands-on class, the wood fire stove will be fired up to cook delicious shiitake mushroom pizzas that will be paired with Botanist and Barrel’s own ciders or a beverage of your choice. Come out to Craftboro Brewing Depot Saturday afternoon for some live music. Every Saturday, Craftboro has a new local musician play. Enjoy some great beer and great local music, ranging from country to jazz and everything in between. Click here for more information.

Sunday, March 12 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy a little yoga in the beautiful outdoors to start your Sunday. The NC Botanical Garden will be having an art and yoga retreat in their gardens. Reconnect with nature and yourself with yoga, meditation, and journaling; participants will find ways to connect and express themselves through these peaceful and creative practices. Botanist and Barrel is having another hands-on class this weekend. Learn how to propagate your own apple trees in this 30 minute class that will teach you methods, grafting, and the necessary tools to plant your own heirloom tree. You’ll get hands-on experience grafting your own tree. Each participant will take home their own dwarf apple tree. For more information on this class, click here.

Sunday, March 12 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

You can hear some more live music this weekend with School of Rock’s 4th annual Cupid’s Jam benefiting TABLE. School of Rock Chapel Hill will be joined by Schools of Rock from Wilmington, Wake Forest, Raleigh, Cary, and Chesapeake, Virginia as they take the stage on the main stage at Cat’s Cradle. Sunday, March 12 2:00 p.m.

The League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties will be hosting a Changing of the Guard celebration at the Chapel Hill Public Library. This celebration will recognize the retired Representative David Price for 30 years of service while celebrating Representative Valerie Foushee in her new role as she represents NC’s 4th Congressional District.
