The 9th annual Freight Train Blues concert series starts this weekend in Carrboro. The concert series celebrates the life and legacy of blueswoman Elizabeth “Libba” Cotten. The Orange County Rape Crisis Center is having their 12th annual Punk Cuts to End Rape event at The Pinhook in Durham this weekend. The party will feature raffles, giveaways, auctions, and of course a lineup of excellent stylists shaving peoples’ heads for the great cause. RambeRill Farm are having another Saturday Slowdown this weekend! Slow down Saturday with live music, a flower bar, crafts for kids, food trucks, massage chair, and of course, animals! Flushfest, Hillsborough’s homemade music and film festival is this Saturday. Enjoy a day full of music, silent films, food trucks, and fun. Admission by donation. Check out this list of musicians who will be performing.

Saturday, June 3 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Walk with Pride this weekend at the 2nd annual Chapel Hill Pride Promenade! At 1:30, there will be a gathering at Peace and Justice Plaza where the Triangle Pride Jazz Band will perform. At 2:00. Chapel Hill Mayor Pro-Tem Karen Stegman will signal the start of the Promenade. The Promenade will end at 140 West Plaza where the celebrations will continue with music, art, dancing, and more. The Promenade is the start of the month-long Chapel Hill-Carrboro Small Town Pride celebrations. For more information on the promenade, click here!

Saturday, June 3 7:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

The Pride celebrations continue on Saturday at Gizmo Brew Works. They will be holding a Pride Dance Party. The party will include special drinks and beer releases, giveaways, and of course, music and dancing! Don’t miss out on the celebration of love! Click here to get your tickets.

Sunday, June 4 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Drop a line at West Point Mill this weekend. They’ll have cane fishing poles for you to check out for the afternoon while you step away from the hustle bustle at West Point on the Eno. Enjoy nature and some old-fashioned fishing this weekend. The first of its kind wedded joyride will be this weekend taking a curated tour of venues around our community. Each stop will include a tour of a decorated venue while engaged couples will meet the service teams and small businesses that have helped make many weddings possible. Sunday, June 4 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

This weekend, the public are invited to the opening of Waterstone Fire and EMS Station.The public are invited to tour the facility that will hold 1 fire engine, 1 medical responder vehicle, and 1 advanced life support vehicle. The facility will be able to house more and is fully equipped with LED lights and water-saving apparatuses. Click here for more information on the house.

Sunday, June 4 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The 36th annual CROP Hunger Walk will be this weekend. The event is family friendly and the walk will begin at the Carrboro Town Commons at 2:30. Live music, t-shirt sales, and other activities will begin at 1:30 so get there early to register and fully enjoy the festivities. The walk is a huge fundraiser for the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service and Church World Service hunger relief efforts. Click here for more information on the CROP Hunger Walk.
