If you’re looking for live music this weekend, Lanza’s Cafe has you covered with their Songwriters’ Night. Friday’s will feature Dean Batten as well as Jesse Fox. You’ll love Dean’s folk rock style and Jesse Fox’s Americana-folk style. To learn more about both of their music, click here.

Hillsborough Gallery of Arts new show, called Melting, is currently running through February 12th.This exhibit will feature a number of works from a variety of local artists in several different mediums such as paintings, sculptures, photography, and more. Saturday, January 28 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 .m.

Get a workout in for an excellent cause this weekend. Kappa Delta’s 30th annual Shamrock’N’Run. The run will start at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday beginning outside of the Kappa Delta house. All proceeds for the event will go to the prevention of child abuse both locally and nationally. For more information, click here

Sunday, January 29 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

If your child has expressed interest in singing, they’ll have a wonderful opportunity to learn this weekend. The North Carolina Boys and Girls Choirs will be holding a free singing workshop at Binkley Baptist Church. The event is free and open to the public for boys and girls ages 7-14. Sunday, January 29 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Binkley Baptist will also be hosting their monthly Black Lives Matter vigil this Sunday. Come stand together with members of our community in honor of those who lost their lives at the hands of police brutality. Bring a friend and stand for justice. For more information, click here.

The Chapel Hill Historical Society will be holding a presentation by the James Cates Scholars. The James Cates Scholars are a group of local young people that will be speaking about the importance of learning and knowing local history. Their presentation will include them sharing what they have learned over the years as young activists. For more information on this presentation, click here.
