Come out to Spring Haven Farm this weekend and enjoy some s’mores with goats. You’ll be able to feed the animals like Lola the Pig, goats of course, and cozy up by the fire while toasting some marshmallows and enjoying some s’mores. Click here for more information.

The UNC Genome Science Building is holding a pop-up exhibition featuring works from fall Art and Biology classes. The exhibition brings an intersectionality between the two subjects. For more information, click here.

PlayMakers Repertory Company is putting on Every Brilliant Thing at the Current Art Space Studio, a one person show that speaks about mental health and wellness and highlights the little things in life that make it worth living. Get your tickets here to the show.

Come enjoy some live music this weekend with the School of Rock Chapel Hill’s January Blast at the Local 506. The House Band will be performing starting at noon with special guests the Rock 101 and Rock 201 Bands. A donation at the door is requested and encouraged. For more information, click here.

Flyleaf Books is continuing their second Sunday poetry series this weekend. Authors Terry Kennedy and Joanie McLean will be reading passages from their new books. The event will be followed by an open mic for you to bring your own poems to read. Click here for more information.

Celebrate and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. at the UNC Friday Center.The Community celebration will feature keynote speaker Beverley Scarlett, retired District Court Judge. There will also be entertainment and the presentation of the MLK/Edith Wiggins High School Senior Scholarship, and more. For more information, click here.

Monday, January 15 

Celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP’s Martin Luther King Day Celebration. The day will start with a march starting at the Peace and Justice Plaza, followed by a service at First Baptist Church with keynote speaker Deborah Dicks Maxwell, the president of the North Carolina State Conference of the NAACP.
