Starting Friday through the weekend, Chapel Hill Public Library will be having their Big Book Sale for their members. It’s a perfect chance to get your holiday shopping done for the book lovers in your life on a bargain or to just treat yourself to a few books. Come out to downtown Mebane for their Christmas parade The parade will start on Clay Street and finish at the Mebane Community Park. The parade will finish with Santa visiting Mebane! Click here for more information on the Mebane Christmas parade.

Friday, December 2 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Start the weekend with some live music at The ArtsCenter. Multi-instrumentalist and founder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Don Flemons will be playing. He made his solo debut at the Grand Ole Opry and he’ll be making his ArtCenter debut in their intimate setting. Click here to get your tickets.

Saturday, December 3 all day

Jane Austen fans, join Playmakers Repertory Company and the Jane Austen Summer Program for A Day with Emma. A Day with Emma is a full day of presentations about the beloved novel, crafts, holiday shopping, and more. The day will finish with a stage performance of the new adaptation. Saturday, December 3 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

There’s another Christmas market for you to check out this weekend. St. Thomas More will be holding their Christmas Holiday Shoppe craft show this Saturday. 60 talented artisans and crafters from around the state will be on hand selling their works. Saturday, December 3 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Enjoy a nice, slow, relaxing day with RambleRill Farm. They’ll be holding their final Saturday Slowdown of the year giving you a chance to wind down, enjoy the company of some goats complete with yard games, hot cider and cookies! Saturday, December 3 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Come out to the Eno River Arts Mill for the annual Deck the Walls Holiday Show. The show will feature works from members of the Orange County Artists Guild with an opening reception Friday night. Food trucks and beer will be on hand with live performances from Sisters’ Voices and more. If you can’t make it this weekend, the exhibit will be on view until Wednesday, December 28 so you have plenty of time to make it. View some more art this weekend at the Chatham Artists Guild 30th Annual Studio Tour. You’ll have the chance to meet 55 artists in 39 studios, learn about their craft, and view their work with the chance to purchase a few of your favorite pieces! The Holiday celebrations begin this Saturday with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Community Parade. Join the festivities and watch the floats go by in this inclusive parade. Join the Piedmont Wildlife Center for a mile walk to catch a glimpse of North Carolina owls. As you hike, you’ll learn more about the various owl species we have around the state and their habitats. Register here to take part in the Owl Prowl.
