Uproar Festival of Public Art
Thursday, August 14; Friday, August 15; Saturday, August 16; Sunday, August 17, all day

Uproar Festival of Public Arts is back in Orange County. 60 outdoor works of art will be showcased throughout the downtown communities of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough. Cash prizes will be awarded based on public voting and a jury panel of experts.The art works will be available to see until August 23rd. Click here for more information.

This Thursday, Jennifer Hartmann will be at The Carolina Inn celebrating the release of her newest book Dream On. She will discuss her newest novel and the inspiration for it then answer guest questions. For more information, click here.

Pittsboro Finally Fridays Arts Walk

Maypop Studios is hosting an Open House this weekend featuring the new group of ceramic artists, Claytonia. The group includes Doug Dotson, Gillian Parke, Ronan Peterson, and David Roswell. Star Families: Greek Myths & Legends

This weekend Morehead Planetarium is holding another Star Families showing. In this one, you’ll hear stories of monsters, heroes, and gods in Greek myths. Many constellations appear as characters in Greek myths. While you’re enjoying the stories, you’ll learn how to identify the associated constellations. For more information, click here.

Reflections On Her Leaving by Joy Potts

This weekend at Yonder, Joy Potts will be performing Reflections on Her Leaving. It’s an original theatrical performance of poetry and storytelling, accompanied by music, media, and movement.
