If you’re a photographer, the Department of Environment, Agriculture, and Parks are holding a photography contest. Explore Orange County and take pictures of the beautiful nature we have around us. The theme for this year is “Flora and Pollinators.” They will be accepting submissions through May 31st. For more information about the contest, click here.

Celebrate Spring in the outdoors with baby goats. Spring Haven Farm is holding a Spring Time with Baby Goats event where you can shop in their general store, enjoy delicious food, and of course, take a walk around the grounds and visit with the animals. Click here for more information.

Come out this weekend and celebrate the Carrboro Farmers’ Market’s 45th Birthday. They are celebrating their birthday by having their seasonal opening day. You can shop the local produce while enjoying delicious birthday cake and tie-dying a t-shirt. For more information, click here.

Carolina Public Humanities is holding a lecture, “Art in Moments of Transitions” at the Rizzo Center. The lecture will focus primarily on art in Mexico after its early 20th century revolution and art in China in the most recent past, exploring how art changes and adapts based on significant political moments and climate. The UNC Science Expo is this weekend at Morehead Planetarium and this year. It’s a full day of science and learning with more than 100 booths run by UNC students, researchers, staff, and practitioners. The booths will feature games, hands-on activities, and you’ll get to take behind the scenes lab tours. It’s also Morehead Planetarium’s 75th anniversary this year and they’re bringing food trucks, prizes, stage performances and more to the science expo to celebrate! Click here for more information.

Sunday, April 7 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Chatham Artists Guild has opened their new exhibit on view at The Plant. All pictures are of nature by many very talented artists. Art mediums include paint, glass, etc. The opening reception will be held this Sunday afternoon and will feature free refreshments and music from Britt Wilson. Click here for more information.

Sunday, April 7 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

No Shame Theatre Carrboro is back this weekend at the Carrboro Century Center. Prepare your own work, whether it be a poem, a song, a scripted or improved piece, bring it and perform it in a judgment free zone, or you can just feel free to enjoy the show.
