Start the weekend fun early with a little time in nature without leaving the comfort of your car. Piedmont Wildlife Center is having a drive-thru wildlife experience for you to get the chance to possibly view many different creatures, including snakes, owls, and hawks. Friday, April 14 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Starting this Friday, Pittsboro Gallery of Arts will be displaying their new exhibit of Debbie Englund’s ceramic work, Dawn Hummer’s use of color and texture, and Trudy Thompson’s painting with shapes. Come out for the reception and stay to view the talents of these fantastic artists. The exhibit will be open through the 30th. Click here for more information.

Friday, April 14 9:45 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

This Friday, enjoy a showing of The Legend of Georgia McBride at Playmakers Repertory Company. Following the play, local drag queens and kings, including Naomi Dix, will be performing “The Art of Drag.” If you can only make the incredible Art of Drag show, the lobby for the showing will open at 9:30. Saturday, April 15 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This Saturday, Bethel Baptist Church will be having a Community Tag Sale. Come out and shop pottery, plants, baked goods, and more. The sale will be every Saturday through May 13th. There are also vendor slots available if you’re interested in selling. For more information, click here.

Saturday, April 15 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious brunch this Saturday for a good cause! Paws4Ever will be holding “A Toast to Pets” brunch in support of their continued efforts to save pets and find them loving homes. Along with delicious food, there will be a guest speaker at the brunch, Dr. Natasha Olby, a NC State veterinary science professor who will explain how you and your pet can age well. Saturday, April 15 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Spend the day at Craftboro Brewing Depot this Saturday. First you can enjoy a tour of the facility and learn about the process of how they make their delicious brews. Saturday, April 15 5:00 p.m.

This Saturday at Teers Farm, Habitat for Humanity Orange County will be holding their third annual farm to table dinner party. Along with delicious food, there will be live music, a photobooth, and plenty of time for mingling with your fellow guests. There will also be a silent auction online and open for anyone to bid on. Sunday, April 16 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Drop a line at West Point Mill this weekend. They’ll have cane fishing poles for you to check out for the afternoon while you step away from the hustle bustle at West Point on the Eno. Enjoy nature and some old-fashioned fishing this weekend. When you’re done fishing you can also take a tour around West Point Mill and hear stories about people who lived, played, and worked in the area. Click here for more information.

Sunday, April 16 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Bazaar Craft and Art Market is back at the Carrboro Town Commons this weekend. 30 talented makers will be selling their handmade goods. You can take a small break from shopping and enjoy some of the donuts, beers, tacos, and more from the food trucks that will be on hand. You can also get a tarot card reading, fairy hair, and more. Sunday, April 16 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy some live music to close out the weekend fun with the School of Rock Chapel Hill at Steel String Brewery at the 2nd Annual PluckFest. The House Band will be joined by special guests the Rock 101 and Rock 201 classes. The show is free, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
