In this week’s round of Talking Culture, Aaron welcomes Courtney Smith – who’s written an original play called “Hammer of the Scots” that’s being staged in Hillsborough, with proceeds supporting the Orange County Historical Museum. The play is inspired by real events from the 14th century, involving characters you may remember from the film “Braveheart” (but hopefully a bit truer to life than that movie was!). It’s on stage at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 28, and then again from Thursday-Saturday, October 3-5, starting at 5:30 each night with an hour of medieval-style food and drinks plus music and comedy from local artists before the hour-long show. (Smith has also taken her research for the play and turned it into a book.)
