Aaron welcomed Kevin Goodwin to Live and Local on Friday, following the release of his new EP “One Hell of a Night.”
Kevin Goodwin is a singer-songwriter with a broad range: though he cites early-2000s pop as his main influence, his own sound can range from acoustic piano to 80s-style hard rock.
“One Hell of a Night” is Goodwin’s third EP, released right as he arrives in the area. He moved from Charlotte to Chapel Hill over the summer – inspired, he says, by a visit to Cats Cradle and a glimpse of the Triangle’s thriving music scene.
Goodwin’s next live performance is in less than two weeks: he’s playing a free show at Epilogue Books on Franklin Street downtown, Saturday, September 30, from 4-6 p.m.
Kevin Goodwin stopped by “Live & Local” on Friday to chat about “One Hell of a Night” and his first impressions of Chapel Hill. He also played three songs that appear on the EP and play three tracks, “Best Damn Time,” “Favorite Mistake” – and “Autumn’s Fall,” an instrumental he originally wrote as a kid.
