Aaron welcomed the band Analog Mountains to Live and Local this week, following the release of their new EP “Nice.”
Follow Analog Mountains on Instagram.
Analog Mountains is Jack Gudhart and Chris Fulton – longtime friends, fellow dads, and veterans of the local music scene who joined forces about four years ago. They take pride in making music across genres, but “Nice” fits in with a recent trend: songs that sound bright and upbeat musically, but feature lyrics with dark themes about depression, anxiety, and societal malaise. (“I’ve not been feeling too nice” is the title track’s refrain.)
Gudhart and Fulton are celebrating the EP’s release with a show at Belltree in Carrboro, Saturday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. It’s actually a joint EP release show – also featuring Cameron Stenger, who just dropped his own EP “Return” in the last month.
Visit Analog Mountains’ page on Bandcamp.
Gudhart and Fulton stopped by Live & Local to discuss the EP, their origins as a duo, their favorite local musicians, and the upcoming show at the Belltree. They also played three tracks: “Nice,” “Memories of Snow,” and “Therapy.”
