Just hours after the official release of his latest solo album “Lost World,” Django Haskins joined Aaron Thursday on Live and Local.

Learn more about Django at DjangoHaskins.com.

Django Haskins is perhaps best known as the front man for The Old Ceremony, but he’s also an acclaimed solo artist and a prolific songwriter. He says he wrote more than a hundred songs during the pandemic, including – uncharacteristically – a handful on piano.

Those piano-based tracks are the songs that make up “Lost World.” Inspired primarily by the jazz piano legend Bill Evans (with a hint of Kurt Weill-esque theatricality), Haskins says he dove into this project with the intent of creating a consistent atmospheric mood from start to finish – like “going underwater,” in a pleasant and calming way.

Django is also working on a new album with The Old Ceremony, which will mark its 20th year together in 2024. Visit TheOldCeremony.com for more details about the band.

Django Haskins stopped by Live and Local to discuss the album and play three tracks: “Lost World,” “The Woodpecker,” and the album’s closer, “Will There Be Time.”
