With a new album, “Tricky Things,” due out Friday, the band Dissimilar South joined Aaron this week on Live & Local!

Dissimilar South are Maddie Fisher and Carter Hodge. They released their debut EP, “Treehouse,” in 2019, but “Tricky Things” is their first full-length album. Produced by Jason Richmond, Fisher and Hodge recorded the album with support from artists including Joe McPhail, Joe Westerlund, Mipso’s Joseph Terrell, and Hiss Golden Messenger’s Alex Bingham.

Dissimilar South have already released two songs from the new album, “Baby Blues” and “Melodrama,” and IndyWeek previewed a third track, “Fear of Flying,” earlier this week. The entire album will drop on Friday, and they’ll celebrate that evening with an album-release show at Cats Cradle Back Room. Earleine and Chessa Rich will open.

Carter Hodge and Maddie Fisher joined Aaron on “Live & Local” to discuss the album and the upcoming show. They also played three songs: “Midnight,” “Fear of Flying,” and the album’s title track, “Tricky Things.” Listen below:
