With a new album due out in the next few weeks, Kent Nickerson of Brother Kent joined Aaron this week for Live & Local.
Comprised of Nickerson, Chris Russell, Pierre Lefebvre, and Josh Flenniken, Brother Kent describe themselves as “equal parts The National and The Band,” with an Americana sound inspired by Nickerson’s songwriting. They released their debut EP “Absent the Glory” in 2021; now, they’re ready to release their first full-length album, entitled “What They Say Ain’t True.” The album’s exact release date is still yet to be determined, though Nickerson says it should be out in a matter of weeks.

This Sunday, May 7, Brother Kent will headline a show at Cats Cradle Back Room, beginning at 7:30 with Turquoise Trader and Tupelo Crush opening.
Kent Nickerson stopped by Live & Local to discuss the album and play three tracks: “Murder of Crows,” “Kitchen,” and “Moab.” Listen:
