Lennon KC joined Aaron Keck on Live & Local this week – his first-ever radio appearance, following a successful tour and the release of his debut album “Culdesac Kid.”
Only 24 years old, Lennon KC has been on the rise since dropping his first single (“Sabotage”) last year.
“2024 has been really big for me,” he says. “I won a battle-of-the-bands competition and ended up playing this massive music festival called ‘Lovin’ Life’ in Charlotte. Stevie Nicks was headlining, it was huge…and then that ignited a fire, and so I switched directions and (started) to lean more into my original songs.”
Those songs – already nearly a dozen singles on top of the eight songs on “Culdesac Kid” – run the gamut of genres, from indie pop to grunge to modern rock with hip-hop influences.
“I take inspiration from all kinds of genres,” he says. “It’s pretty difficult for me to describe what my sound is, I let other people do that for me…but I’ve got tons of influences. The story (of a song) is the golden nugget.”

Lennon KC has wrapped up his 2024 tour, but he’s expecting to be back on stage again soon – and in the meantime, you’ll hear him next as a contributing artist on Jesse Fox’s latest single (a re-recording of Fox’s “Hanging Tree”), which is due out on Halloween.
Lennon KC stopped by Live & Local this week to chat about his album and his recent tour. He also played three songs: “Sabotage,” “Culdesac Kid” (with a bonus Billie Eilish cover), and an as-yet-unreleased song, “January to Midnight.” Listen:
