Chapelboro.com is looking for a few interns based out of our Chapel Hill office.

  • 3-6 month program; can be renewed with approval.
  • 5-10 flexible hours per week.
  • Currently lives/resides in the Chapel Hill area (Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Durham, Carrboro)
  • Interns must have reliable transportation

 

Wait, What is Chapelboro.com?

Chapelboro.com is the digital arm of WCHL radio. It is an online newspaper offering news produced by the WCHL news department, sports reports, podcasts of our weekly programs, as well as a comprehensive Community Calendar of events.

As a Chapelboro Intern (we prefer Community Ambassador) what will you gain?

Our “Community Ambassadors” will get great experience in blogging, event photography, and social media.

  • CAs are responsible for writing lifestyle blog posts about local topics and events, and uploading content online (gain WordPress experience)
  • Attending local events, taking photos at events and recapping events through blog posts.
  • Drafting and scheduling posts on social media (gain experience with Hootsuite, Canva, and other social media tools)

 

Internship details:

The ideal intern will be creative, organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented with a passion for the communities we represent. It’s important that our interns are proactive in asking for more assignments, let us know if they need any help and are good communicators. We’re a small crew so we’re open to ideas for stories or blogs. The internship is truly a great opportunity learn a lot.

Requirements:

  • –Strong grammar and editing skills
  • –Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • –An obsessive attention to detail and commitment to high quality and accuracy.
  • –A familiarity with our website, and local communities (Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Carrboro, Pittsboro, and Durham)
