Wait, What is WCHL?
WCHL has been a part of this community for 63 years. It is a trusted source for daily information for the people of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Orange County. Our listeners are educated, affluent and 35+- a common demographic for a news talk format, but also very reflective of the make-up of our University town. We are News, Talk, Tar Heels, and now we have music!
Chapelboro is our digital arm. It is an online newspaper offering news produced by the WCHL new department, sports reports, podcasts of our weekly programs, as well as a comprehensive Community Calendar of events.
As a WCHL Marketing and Promotions Intern what will you gain?
An inside look into radio, digital and social media, plus an opportunity to get creative, write and publish your work on a well known website – chapelboro.com. Chapelboro has an average of over 86K unique visitors per month, which gives you an opportunity to get your work seen. A chance to network in your community, meet local business owners, and community leaders. There will be several workshops throughout your internship to help build your skills, and even a chance to use your voice on the radio for a promo.
During this fall internship you will be working largely on a Carolina Basketball promotion. If you love the Tar Heels it’s definitely a plus!
Ready to apply?
If you’ve got questions, reach out to Internship Supervisor, Taylor Reneau at taylor@wchl.com If you’re ready to apply, send a resume to her BY August 8,2017 and make sure to tell her why you’d make a great “Intern” in the body of your email!
