Irene Dwinnell is Thursday’s Hometwon Hero.

She is the new executive director at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center.  For most of her professional life,  Irene has worked in mental health.

The crisis center’s mission is to stop sexual violence and its impact through support, education, and advocacy.

The Orange County Rape Crisis Center is looking volunteers.  They are specifically looking for companions.

Hear more from Irene Dwinnell: she and the OCRCC’s Alyson Culin spoke with WCHL’s Aaron Keck last week about marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
