This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Kwame Alston from Extraordinary Ventures.
Extraordinary Ventures is an organization that does a lot in our community, including a program called Simple Clean – a team of nine people who detail and clean Chapel Hill Transit buses.
Alston has been with Extraordinary Ventures for seven years and quickly rose in the ranks to become the manager of Simple Clean.
“It was just obvious really early on that he was a quick learner, awesome personality, compassionate guy to now independently overseeing the whole operation,” said Extraordinary Ventures CEO Paige Morrow.
Alston’s work with Simple Clean is especially important now during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Recently his responsibilities increased even more because you know, there’s this element of safety,” said Morrow. “We’re really putting a lot in his hands to make sure that everybody’s safe out there.”
