This week’s Hometown Heroes, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is the staff at A. L. Stanback Middle School.
The staff recently stepped up to save a young man’s life. When a student was playing in the gym at Stanback and suddenly went into cardiac arrest, one teacher immediately jumped in and began chest compressions when they noticed the student was not responsive. The school resource officer brought AED to the student’s side and many other staff members, in a coordinated response, provided life-saving procedures that brought him back to life. It wouldn’t have been possible without the combined efforts of multiple people calling on their training and working together.
