This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Melissa Driver Beard, executive director of the Chatham Outreach Alliance, also known as CORA!
Melissa oversees all plans and programs within the CORA food pantry, which includes the signature choice-based pantry that allows people relying on the resources CORA provides for food stability to receive the assistance they need with dignity and agency. Melissa has decades of experience combined in working nonprofits, advocating for human rights and civil issues, and specifically focusing on addressing food insecurity. All this and more make her this week’s Hometown Hero!
