This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by the O. Max Gardner Foundation, is Andrew Taylor-Troutman.

Taylor-Troutman is the author of “Little Big Moments” on Chapelboro.com and the pastor at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church. They’ve teamed up with a national nonprofit to raise money to help erase medical debt for local residents. Undue Medical Debt buys medical debt that hospitals have already written off. Taylor-Troutman and his church set a goal to raise $20,000, enough to erase the debt for hundreds of Chatham County residents. Thanks to his leadership, they raised over $22,000.

Listen to this week’s Hometown Hero segment below, and check in next week for another recognition of someone who is making a difference in our community! Who do you think deserves to be recognized?  Nominate them below!  At this time, Hometown Hero nominations are focused on individuals connected to local non-profits, charities, schools, and other community service organizations making a positive impact across our area.
