Businesses small and large are making necessary changes to keep their staff, clients, customers, and patients safe. At Mack Orthodontics, they are up to the task.

Dr. Kervin Mack is passionate about staying at the cutting edge of orthodontic and dental techniques and technology. To achieve this, he continually updates his education and training, which most recently has included learning how to operate a COVID compliant practice. “Orthodontists in general already are pretty cognizant of infection control, but we just had to take it to another level.”

Their offices in Burlington and Hillsborough were closed for seven weeks, during which improvements, adjustments, and of course – plans for safely reopening were made. Dr. Mack, Dr. Jackson, and their whole team are very invested in their patients, because they love what they do! When you’re connected with your patients, Dr. Mack says not seeing them for that long can prove to be “a little bit discouraging… I really get a lot of encouragement and energy from the interactions that we get to have with our patients and with our team.”

COVID-19 didn’t just affect Dr. Mack’s professional schedule. Being a big advocate for fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Mack exercises daily and is a triathlete. “I had been training really hard all winter, and I was planning on qualifying for the World Championships this year.” He looks forward to having triathlon races back on the calendar, and returning to being able to train daily.

Before his conversation with Aaron Keck ended, Dr. Mack was eager to sing the praises of his awesome team, saying “they have been working really, really hard, especially during these last six weeks that we’ve been open with extended hours and having to get to work an hour earlier than they’re used to; They’re at work now by 6:30 a.m.! Some people are having to drive from much farther away and, and having to homeschool their kids while they’re working. It’s really required a lot of sacrifice from everybody and it’s been such a strong team effort.”
