When you think ‘interior design,’ what is the first thing that comes to mind? New furniture? Glamorous curtains? Pretty Pillows?

Sure, those are some of the fun finishing touches of a design project, but Catherine French and her team of experts want you to know that there’s much more to it when they join a project.

Specializing in both residential and commercial redesign projects, Catherine French Design focuses on troubleshooting problems with living and working space. As Catherine explains, “I can make it pretty, but it’s much more – how are you living? What are your pain points?”

Pretty is good, but functional is better.

Cat is a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture, and chances are you’ve probably seen her exquisite work already. Annie Johnston, owner of La Vita Dolce and the recently opened Market and Moss, worked with Cat on both of her business spaces to ensure she created the most warm, inviting, and truly functional environments possible. Catherine French Design took Annie’s “very strong sense of how she wants to portray the food, how she wants to have that environment” and combined it with bright color and warm lighting to create Market and Moss’ unique new vibe. They also managed to double the patio dining capacity, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
