The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance returned for the first celebration of its 18th iteration in spring of 2022, and the fall GrassRoots festival has been fully announced with a lineup including all-time favorite Donna The Buffalo and Dr. Bacon as well as plenty of new acts on the stages at Shakori!

The initial lineup of the 18th Annual Fall Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival will take place October 6-9, and feature performances from Donna The Buffalo, two time Grammy winner Eric Krasno Trio, Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, Driftwood, Jimkata and Hayley Jane, Dr. Bacon, The Bones of J.R. Jones, Ellis Dyson & The Shambles and The Get Right Band. The full lineup page can be viewed here.

The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a non-profit event that benefits the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center — which itself is a non-profit. The Shakori Hills Community Arts Center provides free or greatly reduced music and arts programs to rural communities in Chatham, Orange, and Durham counties.

In its nearly two decades of existence, GrassRoots has become a local fixture twice as year as Shakori transforms into fine festival venue form and musicians from all over swoop in to entertain locals and travelers alike. Four-day admission tickets are currently on sale for $145, and single-day tickets are available. Shakori Hills also has volunteer opportunities, for those with availability to help out the festival and receive a ticket in return!
