Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 99(D)

Geraud Staton was our guest last week and, wow, in just 25 minutes we covered a number of interesting topics. Of those, I want to focus on Memory.

We considered the impact of the fact that our memories are recreated each time we recall them. Wait ’til you hear Geraud’s story about his experience with a radically changed memory. This suggests two things:

First, always be cautious when relying on a memory as actual, factual. You can and will create personal advantage by recreating a memory into its very best version for you — a version that nurtures you, that portrays you and others in your best light.

Second, memory is a creative asset. Memory stores experiences, knowledge, and information, the raw material of creative thought.

Creativity often involves recognizing patterns and connections between seemingly unrelated pieces of  information; discovering those patterns often relies on memory recall.

Memory stores associations between ideas, allowing us to draw upon these associations to generate fresh insights.

“Exploring Your Creative Genius” takes an expansive view on what it means to be creative and entrepreneurial in an ongoing conversation led by Carl Nordgren — entrepreneur, novelist, and lifelong student with decades of experience growing his own creative capacity and assisting others to do the same in exciting new ways!
