Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 87
I love all the guests this show has had but am particularly delighted when Hugh Willard is on. Hugh has important wisdoms to share with us elders entering the next stage of their lives, helping us become more adaptive, resilient, and creative. And he has great success helping folks reaffirm or rediscover their purpose.
Below you’ll find links to Hugh’s website where his new book, ‘Finding Beauty in the Gray’–what a great title, is presented. And you’ll find a link to his podcast.
One great bit of research to slip in here: When we take on a new creative challenge our brains will be most effective when the two hemispheres are integrated, the imaginative playing with the logical. Neuroscience research has revealed that around the age of 55-60 our two hemispheres naturally work together in a way they didn’t when we were twenty years younger. Creative growth benefits from confidence and when we learn our older brains are helping us be more creative, that confidence grows.
You can find Hugh’s podcast here, and associated website here.
“Exploring Your Creative Genius” takes an expansive view on what it means to be creative and entrepreneurial in an ongoing conversation led by Carl Nordgren — entrepreneur, novelist, and lifelong student with decades of experience growing his own creative capacity and assisting others to do the same in exciting new ways!
