Exploring Your Creative Genius: Episode 171
In this week’s show Annelies Gentile spoke about everyday creativity. You’ll enjoy the perspectives she brings to illuminate how many of our daily tasks are creative ones.
When I think about everyday creativity I think about being generous with the inches and minutes of daily life. My experience and my study have taught me there is a wonderful creative energy released through our generous behaviors — an energy that serves you and others.
An offer to help, that’s generous. Sharing articles with folks you think will enjoy and benefit from reading them, that’s generous. Trying to find the best in new ideas a friend is sharing, that’s generous. And introducing two friends or associates who should know each other, who benefit when they do, that’s generous.
As I started building content for my Duke classes and went looking for it in my entrepreneurial experiences one of the first concepts that showed itself was being generous. One day I smiled when I realized that the words generous and generative are the same word, and found that they both come from the same Latin root.
Being generous is being generative.
