Join Aaron Keck every Tuesday afternoon for Chatham County Roundup, a recurring series that shines the spotlight on Chatham County through engaging discussions and interviews with locals, newsmakers, officials and more.

This week on Chatham County Roundup, join Aaron Keck for a discussion with Zachary Horner of the Chatham News+Record concerning happenings in Chatham County during COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. From non-profit donations to remote communications, Chatham is doing its collective best to keep moving.

With over 20 positive tests — and one of the earlier confirmed cases in North Carolina — Chatham has had difficulty adjusting in everything from restaurants to schools, according to Horner.

“It’s really permeated most places, as I’m sure it has in Chapel Hill — if not every place,” said Horner. “It’s permeated every aspect of life for residents and for people, which is pretty much unprecedented in my lifetime, if not everybody’s lifetime at this point.”

But even as difficulties mount in the face of COVID-19, there’s still “good news out there,” according to Horner.

“There’s a lot of good in what you see humanity doing and it’s stuff they’ve been doing most of this all along,” said Horner. “We’re just looking now, and we’re seeing it.”
