Join Aaron Keck every Tuesday afternoon for Chatham County Roundup, a recurring series that shines the spotlight on Chatham County through engaging discussions and interviews with locals, newsmakers, officials and more.

This week on Chatham County Roundup, join Aaron Keck for a conversation with Chatham County commissioner Karen Howard about hurricane season (and hurricane preparedness, long-term Chatham projects, catching up with what’s been going on in local government, resources available to people struggling during the current pandemic and more).

“Pittsboro’s town board is continuing to meet virtually while we are meeting in person, so we’re hoping we might be able to schedule a meeting of the boards together before the end of the year,” said Howard. “But even if we can’t, we do try to stay in touch and keep the town informed on what’s happening at the county level and keep the county board informed of what’s going on with our town. We even attempt to do at least one annual meeting with all of the local boards. So, the school board, all of the towns and County commissioners, which I think is very helpful. It’s a great way of just remembering that we’re all serving the same people.”

Listen below for the full conversation, and tune in weekly for conversations about Chatham County happenings, people, news and more.
