Chatham County Line, a Raleigh-based band, has the No. 1 bluegrass album in the country, according to Billboard.
Autumn, the seventh studio album released by the quartet, debuted on top of the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart. Chatham County Line topped albums from Sarah Jarosz, the Earls of Leicester, and another North Carolina band Steep Canyon Rangers.
“A hefty thanks goes to you, our fans, for helping us get up there, we are proud to admit that we couldn’t have done it without you,” Chatham County Line said in a statement on their website.
Autumn was recorded in the falls of 2014 and 2015 at Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, North Carolina. Finishing touches to the album were done at Overdub Lane in Durham. It was produced by singer-songwriter-guitarist Dave Wilson. The other three members of the band are banjo player Chandler Holt, upright bassist Greg Readling, and fiddler-mandolin player John Teer. The album was released by Hillsborough’s Yep Roc Records.
