This week’s Adopt-A-Pet, presented by Houndswood Village, is Basil from Independent Animal Rescue!

Here’s what Independent Animal Rescue has to say about Basil:

Basil is a big, beautiful boy! He is on a weight loss journey, but currently he’s an impressive 18 lbs. He has a shiny black and white coat, the cutest soft pink nose, and delicate green eyes. Basil is a very expressive fella – showing lots of emotion on his adorable face.

Basil is a very social guy, and really just wants to be near a human whenever possible. He enjoys some time on a lap, especially if he’s cold, but he mostly prefers a spot pressed right up against a human’s legs instead. He’s an under-the-covers-snuggler, too, often spending his alone time as a lump under a blanket.

Basil has a playful streak – enjoying a few games of chase throughout the day. But for the most part, he’s very low key and content with a little bit of bird watching from his window perch in between long naps. He’s quite agile for a big boy – enjoying climbing the cat tree to get better views of the birds outside. Basil sometimes gives a little nibble when setting his boundaries, so for that reason he will do best in a home without young children.
