Trending today: a report about the “Presidential Election Campaign Fund,” to which you can divert some of your federal taxes. It’s a limited approach to public funding of presidential campaigns – but because those campaigns are so expensive these days, no candidates accept the funds anymore because it’s not worth all the rules you have to follow. But that could actually have a positive outcome: with the fund getting larger and sitting unused, the government is starting to use it to pay for campaign-related infrastructure costs like security – which pleases Victor just fine, thank you very much.
